PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide facsimile equipment in which mis-operations are effectively prevented by providing an operation part with a touch panel and making it an input means for the facsimile equipment to shift to a state where transmission is permitted. SOLUTION: An operation part is provided with a touch panel 2, and this touch panel 2 is made to be an input means for facsimile equipment to shift to a state where transmission is permitted. This equipment is equipped with a normal transmission mode and an erroneous transmission prevention mode. In the normal transmission mode, when information for specifying a transmitted party is inputted and a start button H1 is pressed, it shifts to a state of where transmission is permitted. In the erroneous transmission preventing mode, after the information for specifying the transmission destination (a telephone number for specifying the transmission, an abbreviated number, an ID or a name) is inputted, to touch a transmission destination display part T7 of the touch panel 2, where the transmission distination is displayed by the input of the information becomes a necessary condition for shifting to the state where transmission is permitted. That is, confirmation by sighting becomes always an incidental operation, and erroneous transmission is surely prevented.
