PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unauthorized information duplication by using an inexpensive general purpose semiconductor memory by performing mutual authentication with a recording medium, decoding and ciphering a first key by a second key and transmitting the ciphered first key and ciphered information to a storage medium. SOLUTION: A reader-writer 1 stores contents in a mounted IC memory 2 and also reads the contents stored in the IC memory 2. A mutual authentication part 12 performs the mutual authentication by a mutual authentication processing with the mutual authentication part 23 of the IC memory 2, and after the mutual authentication, a temporary key is generated by communication with the IC memory 2. A decoding part 14 decodes the contents and a contents key, etc., by a prescribed system such as DES which is a common key cipher system. A ciphering part 13 ciphers the contents or the key required for the decoding of the contents or the like by the prescribed system and supplies them to a communication part 11. The communication part 11 transmits or receives the contents or the ciphered key from the IC memory 2. |
