PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a data quantity that is otherwise decreasing in the endoscope conducting interpolation processing corresponding to high image quality processing. SOLUTION: In the endscope where an electronic scope 1 with a CCD 3 having a high pixel number such as 800,000 pixels having a color filter is provided with an interpolation circuit 10 that applies interpolation arithmetic operation to an image signal, and a processor connecting to the electronic scope 1 is provided with a digital output section to output a digital image signal externally, whether or not an operation of the interpolation circuit 10 is to be executed is switched. Thus, an image signal in an object to be observed with high image quality is outputted as a digital signal from the digital output section. When the interpolation circuit 10 is switched to a non-operation, digital image data not receiving interpolation processing are outputted to an external device such as a personal computer and a memory capacity of the external device is saved.
