PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the leakage magnetic flux between adjacent magnetic poles and to reduce the cost by inserting a rod-shaped permanent magnet into a magnetic insertion hole being pouched in the axial direction of a rotor core so that the polarities of the rotor core outer-periphery sides in the permanent magnet are identical. SOLUTION: A rotor can avoid concentration of stress at the outer-periphery side of a magnet insertion hole 5 due to the centrifugal force of a permanent magnet 10 since the magnet insertion hole 5 is circular. More specifically, centrifugal force due to the permanent magnet 10 is centered at the outer-periphery side corner part of the magnet insertion hole 5 and the width of a magnetic pole connection part 7 must be increased to make sufficient the strength. However, in the rotor, the width can be narrowed. Also, since the magnetic pole connection part 7 can be narrowed, the magnetic reluctance between adjacent magnetic pole parts 6 can be increased. Also, since the width in the diameter direction of the magnetic pole connection part 7 is set to a degree where the leakage magnetic flux between the magnetic pole parts 6 can be saturated, the leakage in the magnetic flux between the magnetic pole parts 6 can be reduced to prevent motor efficiency from decreasing.
