PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an underwater sound source to withstand long-time operation and generate accurate sounds by inserting diaphragms, which are excited in water into a sealing chamber sectioned in the air chamber housing of the underwater sound source, while a gap is left and providing an elastic tube filled with fluid in the gap. SOLUTION: On the inner peripheral side of the join part between a housing part 5 and a pressure plate 6, a sealing chamber 7 is sectioned and formed. On the inner peripheral side of the sealing chamber 7, an opening part 11 is formed and a diaphragm 3 is inserted into the sealing chamber 7 from the opening part 11, while the specific gap is left. In the gap 15 at the periphery of the diaphragm 3 in the sealing chamber 7, a couple of elastic tubes 16 are provided which come into contact with both the surface sides of the water side and air side of the diaphragm 3. The elastic tubes 16 are formed of rubber or members having a coefficient nearly equal to that of rubber and formed into a ring shape along the peripheral edge part of the diaphragm 3. Furthermore, the elastic bodies are filled with a fluid consisting of gas or liquid.
