SENSOR PROCESSOR AND PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the installation position of a sensor to be clear and to estimate a precise traffic condition and travel time. SOLUTION: A means for estimating a traffic jam length from a bottleneck position to a sensor is provided. Traffic capacity which a pass through a bottleneck is previously estimated and the number of vehicles that are left behind is calculated by the balance calculation of arriving traffic quantity and traffic quantity that can pass through the bottleneck. Thus, traffic jam length can be estimated. For making the installation position of the sensor to be clear, the sensor can be installed in a position from a signal crossing a distance beyond queue length generated at one period in a signal crossing (queue which can completely be treated in one period).
