The system has a receiving antenna in communication with a global positioning system. The antenna is connected by an interface to an input of a processor, fitted with a clock, which is designed to compare at each instant the position data received from the GPS system with data contained in memory. When comparison of the instantaneous position data from the GPS system with the memory data exceeds a pre-determined value, a message is transmitted from an onboard transmission antenna. The system also includes a central receiving and processing unit for the messages received from the vehicles. The onboard processor, the memory and the interfaces are contained in a removable drawer (8), fitted with connections for the antennas and vehicle electrical supply, via a fixed cradle (1).
