PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device or the like for measuring transmittance that can accurately and reliably measure transmittance in a mono- filament-type fiber. SOLUTION: In a method for measuring the transmittance of a mono-filament- type fiber, cutback is made from the incidence end side of a fiber to be measured. Also, transmittance is measured while a state where there is no leakage of light due to the bending of the fiber to be measured (a specific slack range or the like while the fiber to be measured is retained) is retained. Then, before the transmittance of the fiber to be measured is measured, an organic matter on the fiber to be measured is eliminated.
