PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the device for cable communication coping with a plurality of services. SOLUTION: A digital multi-set top box DMSTB 15 is provided with slots 31a, 31b use to mount a module 41 removably. This module 41 converts externally received data into a form in response to a user device. Furthermore, the DMSTB 15 is provided with a tuner module 23 that receives data externally and outputs the data to the module 41 and with a CPU 51 that controls the mounted module 41. Since the module 41 is replaced depending on a class of service in use, the DMSTB 15 copes with a plurality of services.
