PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube having a deflection unit capable of reducing the deflection power of an electron beam. SOLUTION: A deflection yoke fitting section 12 where the layout portion of a deflection yoke (unit) 10 is formed into a noncircular shape in sequence along the advancing direction of the electron beam oscillated from an electron gun 2 is formed on the funnel section 6 of this cathode-ray tube 1. The deflection yoke 10 is constituted of a horizontal deflection coil 14 arranged around the deflection yoke fitting section 12 and having the nearly same inner face shape as the outer face shape of the deflection yoke fitting section 12, a separator 16 arranged around the horizontal deflection coil 14 and having the nearly same inner face shape as the outer face shape of the horizontal deflection coil 14, a vertical deflection coil 18 arranged around the separator 16 and having the nearly same inner face shape as the outer face shape of the separator 16, and a ferrite core 20 arranged around the vertical deflection coil 18 and having the nearly same inner face shape as the outer face shape of the vertical deflection coil 18.
