PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of obtaining an excellent image provided with the optimum precision by realizing the mist development of high stability and low soiling, and making the stable feed of a mist compatibly with prevention of the mist flowing outside the developing device. SOLUTION: This image forming device is allowed to turn the electrostatic latent image formed on an electrostatic latent image carrier 1 into the visual image by a developing device 4 adopting liquid ink 43. This developing device 4, provided with a mist generating part A for making the liquid ink 43 in a fogged state of fine mist, a mist transporting part B for transporting the fogged ink to a developing part C opposing the electrostatic latent image, and a mist recovering part D for returning the fogged ink being not used for developing in the developing part C from the developing part C to the mist generating part A, is allowed to dispose a space (f) inside the developing device, of the developing part C, opposite to the electrostatic latent image carrier 1, and this developing device inside space (f) is made variable.
