The catheter (2) made partly of plastic latex with proximal and distal end has an expandable sealing element (6) in the form of an annular balloon on the distal end for placing against the vessel's inner wall, and a filter (26) extensible over the vessel's cross section. Between the distal and proximal end of the catheter is a lumen (4) connecting with the interior of the sealing element. An external section of the filter is fixed to the sealing element, and an inner section to the catheter shaft.
