摘要 The fuel injection device has at least one injection nozzle (10,11,14) connected to a fuel pressure line (12) and a nozzle element (14) actuated by a control unit (18,20,28,44) to open and close the nozzle. The control unit has a piston (18) movable in a control channel (16), coupled at one end to the nozzle element and bounding a pressure chamber (22) at the other end with a bung (20). The chamber can be connected via a feed channel (24) to the fuel pressure line and communicates with an outlet channel (26). The pressure in the pressure chamber is altered by allowing or interrupting the flow in the outlet channel to actuate the nozzle element with the pressure chamber connected to the fuel pressure line. Displacing the piston as a result of pressure changes in the pressure chamber influences the flow in the feed channel into the pressure chamber and out of the chamber into the outlet channel. An Independent claim is also included for a control unit for an injection nozzle.
