Novel antisense nucleic acids targeted to specific sequences within the ICAM-1 gene, useful for treating inflammation and metastasis

Antisense nucleic acids (I) targeted against a specific nucleic acid sequence within ICAM-1, comprising /- 1 of 30 sequences ((II)-(XXXI) of 20 nucleotides, given in the specification, are new. Novel antisense nucleic acids (I) targeted against a specific nucleic acid sequence within ICAM-1, comprising /- 1 of 30 sequences ((II)-(XXXI) of 20 nucleotides, given in the specification. E.g.: GGCGTGGCTT GTGTGTTCGG (II); GGAGGCGTGG CTTGTGTGTT (VIII); and AAATTGGCTC CATGGTGATC (XVIII). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a vector containing /- 1 antisense nucleic acid as in (I); (2) a host cell containing /- 1 antisense nucleic acid or vector as in (I) or (1); and (3) a transgenic organism, which comprises /- 1 stably integrated nucleic acid in its genetic material comprising 1 of (I).
