Secure storage system for bicycles incorporates number of stalls, each with locking chain and release mechanism controlled by central card reading mechanism

A large number of stalls (2) for individual bicycles are arranged in racks (1). The intending user inserts an identity or credit card in the control station (5) and is issued with a printed ticket giving the number of a stall and a PIN code. Between each stall and the next is a support post (3) and a chain. The user passes the chain though the wheel of the bicycle and inserts the free end of the chain into a locking mechanism. The lock can only be released by use of the PIN code.
