<p>A cooling band, wherein PVA-made sponges (201 to 203) expand when impregnated with water to positively contact the front side of a water induction sheet (22) and the retained water quickly permeates into the entire front side of the water induction sheet due to capillarity. The front side of the water induction sheet consists of fine fibers and has a very large microfiber surface area to allow permeated water to actively vaporize in close contact with air and absorb heat of vaporization thereby lowering the ambient temperature. The water induction sheet is very thin and has a small heat resistance so that a low temperature on the front side quickly transmits to the rear side to cool the head. If water is supplied to sponges, a cooling effect is recovered to permit many repeated uses.</p> |
