A storage box (3) is set on the upper part of a concave spare tyre socket and a cover (4) is placed above the box to form part of the luggage boot base. A removable push-fit joint is used comprising an insert part at the front end of the cover, and a matching socket part on the profiled element. The rear end of the cover is fixed detachable on the profile element by a clip. A bridging member cut out from a corner at the front end of the cover can be used as the insert part of the cover. The storage box has handles and the cover has engagement openings for same.
