The clamp for workpieces consists of a fixed clamping jaw (1) and a movable clamping jaw (2) traveling along an adjustment stroke (4). Clamping force is introduced to the movable clamping jaw by means of a piston-cylinder unit (7) which has a piston rod (7') formed by a threaded spindle (7.4). A spindle nut (6) operates in conjunction with the threaded spindle and moves the movable clamping jaw by turning the spindle. Each clamping jaw has a basic jaw (1',2') fitted with a jaw-changing appliance (17) which has a clamping bolt (17.1), a spring arrangement (17.2) and an adjustable stop (17.3).
