PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to provide a thin film magnetic head having the specification conformed to the customer's requirement in a short time and also to enable the reduction of the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: A slider 25 is provided with a 1st surface 25A and a 2nd surface 25B facing the direction opposite to each other. On the slider 25, thin film magnetic head element parts 31U, 31D are formed around one end surface 30 in the direction of the air flow. The element part 31U is arranged so as to face to the 1st surface 25A, and the element part 31D is arranged so as to face to the 2nd surface 25B. The element parts 31U, 31D are arranged at the positions symmetric to the surfaces parallel to the 1st surface 25A and the 2nd surface 25B. Four pad-like electrodes 33 for electrically connecting the element parts 31U, 31D with the outside are provided on the end surface 30. The electrodes 33 are selectively and electrically connected to the element part 31U or the element part 31D by four conductor parts 34. |
