PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered nickel electrode maintaining a battery discharge capacity at a high temperature and having an excellent high-rate discharge characteristic and a high active material utilization factor. SOLUTION: A nickel hydroxide active material substituted with group 2A and 2B elements and cobalt for part of nickel is filled in a porous body sintered with metal powder, and part of the nickel in the active material is substituted with the rare earth element to form a sintered nickel electrode for an alkaline storage battery. The electrode amiable to environment, excellent in charge efficiency in the high-temperature environment, preventing the swelling of the electrode, improving a cycle life, and suppressing a battery self-discharge can be provided. |
