The brake arrangement has hydraulically operated front and rear brakes (11,12) for a front and rear wheel, first and second brake actuating arrangements (5,7) for applying hydraulic pressure to the front and rear brakes and an electronically controlled brake system. An electronic controller (22) receives signals from actuation detectors (23,24) for the front and rear brake actuators and uses them to derive control signals for a hydraulically controlled actuator (20,20') to actuate the front and/or rear brakes according to the control signals.
