The pallet (10) mounts a computer (12) and has data and power connectors (24,26) with electrical contacts (30) on the pallets underside adapted for one to one engagement (50) in a rack where the pallet is located. When the pallet is docked into the rack a switch is actuated by the engagement of the contacts that activates the power connection between pallet and rack. An Independent claim is included for a method of testing and/or installing software in a computer system.
