Wireless communication system for medical information to and from defibrillator uses e.g. infrared to transmit information from one defibrillator to another

The communication system wirelessly transmits medical information from one defibrillator to a second defibrillator. The medical information includes an event summary, e.g. an electrocardiograph strip. The communication is performed by infrared using infrared direct access protocol, or by high frequency communication. The first defibrillator may be an automatic external defibrillator, and the second may be a sanitary defibrillator. Independent claims are included for a method of communicating medical information, a defibrillator with an automatic external defibrillator and an advanced cardiac life support personality, a defibrillator training system, a defibrillator testing system and a method of transmitting live electrocardiogram signals.
