摘要 <p>The invention relates to a method and a device for measuring the bone mineral content of the skeleton in a part of the body. The part of the body is exposed on one side to X-ray radiation with two energy levels. The radiation is detected on the opposite side of the part of the body, the thickness of the part of the body is measured and the detected X-ray radiation is analysed. In the analysis it is calculated, with reference to the thickness established, what distances the X-ray radiation passes through the main constituents, water, fat and bone mineral making up that part of the body, in order thereby to determine the bone mineral content of the skeleton in the said part of the body. For calibration of the measurement, this is performed with a reference object (8) of known composition. For the purpose of determining variables that influence the measuring accuracy, such as the intensities and/or the mean energy levels of the radiation emitted by the X-ray radiation means (3), the reference object (8) is exposed at the same time as the part of the body, the radiation is detected and the variables determined are used in calculating the distances through water, fat and bone mineral.</p>
