A vehicle travels on a stationary test apparatus. Data are collected from sensors on the vehicle and measurements made by the test apparatus. These two data are analyzed to check the vehicle's drive system and control system. A test value is determined based on the two data, and the test value is compared with a threshold value. The first data may include an accelerator pedal input, the opening of an electronically controlled throttle flap, and the output power of the electric motor. The second data may include detecting the produced drive torque and traveling speed. The drive distribution ratio between the drive (1) and the electric motor can then be determined. An Independent claim is given for a test system for testing a hybrid vehicle.
