Determining effect of external influence of medicine or placebo on circadian blood pressure by comparing parameters of best-matched model with reference

The method involves providing an ambulatory blood pressure measurement, and matching a model function to it. The model function has eight segments, of which four have a horizontal gradient. One or more parameters of the best-matched model function are determined and compared with a predetermined value to determine the external influence. The model function may be analytically provided.
