TOOL FOR CUTTING AN OPENING IN AN OSTOMY ADHESIVE WAFER

A tool (5) with a cutting edge (14) taken along a circular path serves for cutting an opening (6) in an adhesive wafer (3) of an ostomy bag (2). The tool comprises a cutting edge holder (12) for assembling the cutting edge, a guide pin (8) placed on the cutting edge holder with the axis at a distance corresponding to the radius of the opening from the cutting edge, and a seating (4) for rotatably taking up the guide pin during cutting. The ostomy adhesive wafer (3) forms part of the tool (5), and the seating (4) is a pre-punched hole in the ostomy adhesive wafer (3). The tool is easier to handle and operate, is smaller and has a more simple structure than conventional tools of this kind. The formed opening has a regular hole edge. The tool is adjustable so that it can cut a circular opening in an ostomy adhesive wafer, said hole fitting exactly an individual stoma. The tool can furthermore be utilised just as easily for both preliminary loosed ostomy adhesive wafers as ostomy adhesive wafers that form an integrated part of a double-layer bandage.
