ETHERIFICATION REACTION OF AN AMINOPHENOL USING A PHASE TRANSFER SYSTEM

The invention concerns a method for transforming an aminophenol, characterised in that it consists in a step whereby said aminophenol aniline function is in the form of am anilide function and said phenol is dissolved in a water-repellent and weakly polar solvent in the presence of an alkaline hydroxide, a phase transfer catalyst and a halide or an alkyl pseudo-halide. The invention is applicable to organic synthesis.
