The system uses a camera to monitor the gas cylinders rather than sensors detecting individual cylinders. The installation for the distribution of a stock of gas cylinders (16,18) includes a storage space (12) provided with partitioned spaces (22,24) in which the cylinders stand. A system is provided to monitor the stock of cylinders, and this comprises a camera (32) taking successive pictures of the stored cylinders, and a central processing unit (34). The central processing unit effects a comparison between successive images taken by the camera in order to detect changes. A badge reader may be located near to the door (28) into this storage space, so that any person entering can be detected and recorded. |
