The invention concerns a rotary magnetic actuator comprising a stator (1) with P pairs of poles, including a stator magnetic circuit having pole shoes (7, 8) and at least an electric excitation coil (3), and a rotor (2) including a rotor magnetic circuit (9) located opposite said pole shoes of the stator magnetic circuit and integral with an axial shaft, the rotor magnetic circuit comprising a multi-polar annular magnet (10) with P pairs of poles, wherein said stator magnetic circuit has a central core (5) whereon the excitation coil (3) is wound. The core and the excitation coil have a non-circular cross-section with a polygonal shape taking up substantially the whole surface unoccupied by the rest of the stator magnetic circuit. The invention is particularly applicable in motor vehicles. |
