PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically detect a paper end and opening of a cover of a recorder and miniaturize the recorder. SOLUTION: A motor 1, a head 2, a substrate 5 and a gear 8 are set to a main body 7, and a platen roller 3 is set to a cover 4. In a state with the cover 4 closed, the gear 8 is meshed with a gear integral with the platen roller 3 and the platen roller 3 is pressed to the thermal head 2 with a predetermined load. The platen roller 3 is rotated by the motor 1. A heated recording paper 9 caught between the head 2 and platen roller 3 is sent by the rotation of the platen roller 3. Opening of the cover is detected from a small load of the motor 1, and a paper end is detected from a large load of the motor 1. |
