PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a modified uniform blowing agent powder capable of controlling the occurrence of dust, suppressing agglomeration and solidification with time or under load, having improved dispersibility to a resin, and to provide a method for producing the blowing agent powder. SOLUTION: This blowing agent powder is obtained by coating the surface of blowing agent powder with a silane-based coupling agent and oils and fats. The blowing agent powder is produced through (a) a process for adding the silane-based coupling agent and the oils and fats to the blowing agent powder and (b) a process for mixing the blowing agent powder with the silane-based coupling agent and the oils and fats under conditions hardly to crush the blowing agent powder.
