PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire increasing durability and substantially reducing road noise. SOLUTION: This pneumatic tire is provided with a pair of bead parts 1, a toroid carcass layer 4 extending across the both bead parts 1, a tread part 3 disposed in a crown part of the carcass layer 4, and belt reinforcing layers 7, 8 composed of at least one piece of layers on an outer peripheral side of a belt layer of the crown part of the carcass layer 4, in the whole belt part 5 and/or both ends thereof. In this case, the belt reinforcing layers 7, 8 are made from a cord mainly composed of plural polyvinyl alcohol fiber cords, and the cord is endlessly turned in a spiral to be substantially parallel to the tire circumferencial direction.
