PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the efficient manufacturing of a high quality resin molding. SOLUTION: A mold 10 for molding a resin is made by laminating a backing-up material 15 made of aluminum and copper-containing zinc alloy through an iron plating layer 14 to a nickel plating layer 13, which is shaped so as to have a predetermined molding surface shape. In order to produce this mold 10, a plating matrix is obtained by machining a graphite material into a surface shape same as the surface shape of a molding. The nickel plating layer 13 is formed by plating on the surface of the plating matrix. In addition, after an iron plating layer 14 is formed by iron-plating on the surface of the nickel plating layer 13, a casting mold is prepared so as to make the surface of the iron plating layer 14 as a cost-in surface in order to form a backing-up material 15 by casting a zinc alloy in the casting mold. After the casting-in of the zinc alloy, the plating matrix is separated from the iron plating layer 14 for demolding.
