PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for creating embroidery data capable of setting optimal thread tension condition according to the types of stitches. SOLUTION: A system for creating embroidery data comprises memory 1 to store embroidery data, stitch type specifying means 11 and 12 for specifying the type of the stitches of embroidery sewing, and data attaching means 11 and 12 for automatically attaching data on optimal thread tension condition according to the type of the stitches so that the data may be attached to the embroidery data in the memory 1. As the data on optimal thread tension condition is inputted so as to be attached to the embroidery data in the memory 1 by the data attaching means 1 and 2, it is possible for a workman to form embroidery with satisfactory fine lines by optimal thread tension condition without worrying about a thread tension condition.
