PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing paper which shows an excellent print image, high water resistance, superb moisture resistance and the like when the printing paper is used for an ink jet printer or a laser printer, and also is qualitatively equal to and can be used in the same way as a plain paper. SOLUTION: This printing paper is structured of cellulose fibers which form a paper base material at least, partially coated with hydrophobic organosiloxane fine particles. The hydrophobic organosiloxane fine particles with fine particle surface formed in the units of SiO2 is made hydrophobic by setting the units at R1SiO3/2 (R1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group with 1-20 carbon atoms) and the hydrophobic nature of the fine particles is further enhanced by setting the units of the fine particle surface at R23SiO1/2 (R2 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group with 1-6 carbon atoms). In addition, the fine particles are spherical and 0.01-0.5 μm in dia. on the average. |
