<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating environmental pollutants, matter affecting human health, and the like. SOLUTION: This method comprises contacting microorganisms with to-be- treated matter to decompose or transform the matter; wherein the microorganisms to be used in the present invention are such ones as to belong to the genus Bacillus circulans such as TOM98-04 strain (deposited with the Biotechnology Research, Agency of Industrial Technology and Science with the number FERM P-16977), and the to-be-treated matter includes heavy metals, heavy metal compounds, aromatic compounds, aromatic-contg. compounds, alcohols, septic matter, dead organisms, excreta, and various colors.</p> |
