PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject new compound having excellent curability, a low viscosity and sufficient coating film performances and capable of reducing the compounding ratio of a low-molecular weight compound causing problems in aspects of performances. SOLUTION: This compound is a vinyl group-containing polyfunctional compound represented by formula I [R1 is an organic residue represented by the formula: CnH2n- X-CnH2n (n) is 1-10; X is a direct bond or an organic residue represented by formula II (R7 is a 1-20C hydrocarbon group) or the like; R2s are each an organic residue represented by formula III [R3 is H or an organic residue having a polymerizable unsaturated group represented by formula IV (R5 is H or methyl); (p) is 2-20; (s) is 1-20; (q) is 2-15; (t) is 0-10]} or the like] and containing >=2 polymerizable unsaturated groups. The compound represented by formula I is prepared by carrying out the Micheal addition of an acrylic compound having hydroxy group or carboxy group to a polyamino compound having >=2 primary or secondary amines, providing a core compound and reacting the resulting core compound with a compound having the polymerizable unsaturated group and a functional group reactive with the hydroxy group or carboxy group contained in the core compound.
