PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking area device of the type such that a shielding plate is erected between a front and rear wheels when a car is parked, wherein a car is prevented from leaving, climbing over the shielding plate, without paying a parking fee. SOLUTION: A shielding plate, which is erected between a front and rear wheels, is divided into two parts 1a, 1b so as to be mounted on a horizontal axis 2. The axis 2 is rotated by an erecting drive device, while the part 1a on the side of the middle of the axis 2 is fixed thereto and the outside part 1b is axially supported on the axis 2 so as to fall down separately when the wheels ride on the part 1b, while a spring 4 is interposed between both the parts 1a, 1b so that the part 1b is erected as far as the part 1a.
