POWER-DRIVEN SCREWDRIVER HAVING DETACHABLE DEPTH STOPPER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively perform silent shutoff when a depth stopper is attached or torque-dependent shutoff without rattling sound to be generated in the continuos operation of a machine when the depth stopper is detached. SOLUTION: An adjustable torque dependent release clutch 62 is combined with a known entrainment clutch 65 to be added behind a separation clutch 54, and a lock means 43 is provided for holding a clutch shutoff ring 36 for constituting one of two members of the separation clutch 54 in the specified position under load. Therefore, the silent operation is secured after releasing when a power-driven screwdriver is operated together with a depth stopper 21 and also when torque dependent shutoff is performed after the depth stopper is detached.
