PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a high sensitivity and capable of manifesting excellent electrification properties, durability and repetitive stability by using a specific anthraquinone compound as an electron acceptor compound. SOLUTION: An anthraquinone compound represented by the formula [R1 and R2 are each an alkyl, a perfluoroalkyl or a fluoroalkoxycarbonyl; (m) and (n) are each an integer of 0-4; Z is O atom, C(X) (Y) (X and Y are each H, F atom, cyano or the like) or N(W) (W is an alkyl or the like)] is used. The electrophotographic photoreceptor is obtained by including one or more of the anthraquinone compounds represented by the formula in a photosensitive layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor provided with an electroconductive support and a photosensitive layer formed on the support. The photoreceptor is composed of a laminated structure of a charge transport layer and a charge generating layer by dissolving or dispersing the charge transport substance represented by the formula alone or together with a suitable binder resin in a suitable organic solvent, coating the top surface of the charge generating layer with the resultant solution or dispersion, drying the coated solution or dispersion and composing the charge transport layer.
