PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low hydrogen type covered electrode which is extremely excellent in re-arc property even in a welding machine having a voltage reducing device. SOLUTION: In a low hydrogen type covered electrode excellent in re-arc property after the arc is interrupted, a coating flux containing, by weight, 20-50% metallic carbonate, 0.5-3.5% metallic fluoride, 22-55% iron powder, 0.90-3.30% cellulose, 0.20-0.80% dextrin, and 1.10-3.50% the total of cellulose and dextrin is coated around a steel core wire.
