摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confirm the entering and escape of an arm and to safely use the function of PSDI by making the judgment of abnormality when the number of optical axes to be detected by a detecting means exceeds a preset first constant. SOLUTION: A first optical axis group A and a second optical axis group B are provided on a beam-type safety device 7. The optical axis group A is located on a worker side and the optical axis group B is located on a press 4 side. A slide 5 is provided on a press 4 and vertically driven. A lower die is fitted to a lower part 6 and performs pressing. The beam-type safety device 7 comprises a light emitting part and a light receiving part and light is successively emitted from a light emitting element according to a control signal and received by a light receiving element. When the arm of a worker shields any optical axis of the second optical axis group B, the arm is detected by a detecting means. When the number of the detected optical axes exceeds a preset first constant, the abnormality (b) is judged by a judging means, the function of PSDI is stopped and one stroke drive of the press is prohibited.
