PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a non-phosphorus coolant composition which has an excellent corrosion resistance for metals, and hardly deteriorates rubber material used in the mechanical seal of a water pump. SOLUTION: A coolant composition composed primarily of glycols and containing no phosphates, amine salts, silicates, borates nor nitrites, which comprises 0.5-5.0 wt.% of p-tert butyl benzoate and 0.5-5.0 wt.% of 2- ethylhexanoic acid and further comprises 0.05-10 wt.% of a benzoate or nitrate. |
