PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition excellent in storage stability and capable of manifesting quick-drying, water resistance or the like by introducing a specified surfactant and a specified amine-including aqueous resin to an aqueous resin dispersion stabilized with an anionic functional group. SOLUTION: This composition comprises an aqueous resin dispersion stabilized with an anionic functional group as a main binder and includes therein (A) an aqueous resin having a unit structure of formula I and/or formula II [R is H or a monovalent hydrocarbon group; R' is a divalent hydrocarbon group; X is H, an alkyl, an acyl, an amide or the like; (m) is an integer of m>=0] and (B) an anionic surfactant including an alkylene oxide group. The ingredient A has preferably 500-15,000 weight-average molecular weight and is such a compound as a polyvinyl amine, a polyisopropenyl amine or a polyallyl amine. The ingredient B has preferably >=10 alkylene oxide recurring units. Thus, an aqueous quick-drying coating material having excellent performance can be obtained.
