PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce dispersion of operation torque and oscillation angle of a ball stud without requiring higher caulking accuracy o a socket in a ball joint composed of a ball stud, a bearing, the socket and a dust cover. SOLUTION: This ball joint is composed of a ball stud 1, a bearing 2, a socket 3, and a dust cover 4. In such a case, a tapered receiving surface 2c having a conical surface is formed on a corner of an outer periphery of an oscillation opening 2b of the bearing 2. A large diameter fitting portion 4a of the dust cover 4 is taperingly formed so as to fit to the tapered receiving surface 2c. A metal plate 4c is connected to an inner side surface of the large diameter fitting portion 4a. The large diameter fitting portion 4a of the dust cover 4 is connected to the tapered receiving surface 2c of the bearing 2 fitted in the socket 3. A thin wall portion 3b of an opening peripheral edge of the socket 3 is caulked, for pressing and fixing the large diameter fitting portion 4a onto the tapered receiving surface 2c.
