PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cooling and removal of a component in a turret molding machine. SOLUTION: The cooler is used for an index molding machine 10 having a rotary turret block 16 which has two movable mold halves 32, 36. In this case, the cooler comprises a cooling tube for receiving and cooling a molding on a carrier 18, and an actuating unit for moving the carrier 18 between a first direction for aligning the tube with at least one molding and a second direction for cooling at least one molding in the tube. The cooler preferably comprises a blow-off tube for diffusing cooling air onto the molding.
