PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a high quality image efficiently on a plain paper by reducing deterioration of image quality due to inter-color bleeding phenomenon occurring at the time of ejecting an ink drop to a plain paper. SOLUTION: An input image analyzing section 12b makes a decision whether an input image is a color image or not, a high density image area is included or not, and an input image is a natural image or not. Based on the total decision results and the designation content of a recording sheet from a recording sheet designating section 12a, an adaptive color reproducing section 12d performs adaptive color reproduction processing for the input image before a printer 14 records an image.
