The invention comprises compounds of the general formula <FORM:1069532/C2/1> and their addition salts, wherein X is H or F, R is a hydrogen atom or an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl or aryl radical and n is an integer of 1-25. The compounds are prepared by mixing a compound of the general formula <FORM:1069532/C2/2> wherein X, R and n are as defined above and Ar is an aryl radical, with hydrazine, hydrazine hydrate or an acyl derivative of hydrazine, and supplying heat to the reaction mixture to a degree sufficient to make the reaction start and proceed. The acid addition salts are prepared by contacting the hydrazines with the appropriate acid. The benzene sulphonic acid esters of 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol, 2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5 - octafluoropentanol, 1 - phenyl - 2,2,2 - trifluoroethanol and 1 - methyl-2,2,3,3 - tetrafluoropropanol are prepared by reacting the alcohol with benzene sulphonyl chloride in the presence of pyridine. 1 - Phenyl - 2,2,2 - trifluoroethanol is prepared by the reduction of o -trifluoroacetophenone with potassium borohydride. |
