JEWEL FITTING METHOD AND JEWEL WORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fitting a jewel into a personal ornament without much degradation in the brightness of this jewel. SOLUTION: This process for producing a personal ornament fitted with a jewel 10 includes a step of forming at least one fixing grooves 15 to the jewel 10 to be fitted into the personal ornament. The jewel 10 to be fitted by this process has an upper portion and a lower portion which is at least approximately completely invisible when the upper portion of the jewel 10 is viewed. Fixing grooves 15 are formed at the lower portion of the jewel 10 in such a manner that the fixing grooves 15 are invisible as well when the upper portion of the jewel 10 is viewed. The deposition of mounting materials into the fixing grooves 15 by applying a conventional casting method is possible as well. Finally, all the excessively deposited mounting materials are removed and the jewel 10 is fixed to the jewel work via the mounting materials in such a manner that the mounting materials are invisible on the completed jewel work when the jewel 10 is viewed from the upper portion thereof. The novel jewel work is thus manufactured.
